Kleina, shows large crowds marching in the streets of Chicago to advocate for fair housing. The crowd consisted of African American and white civilians, as well as police officers, some carrying batons, who were used as a way to control the crowd’s behavior. Although the white and Black officers are integrated, the civilians are segregated. The white people walked on the sidewalk/grass areas while the Black people were mostly in the streets alongside police. This distinction lends itself to the segregation and racial tensions that were actively taking place in America during the time.
